Introducing a New Kind of Network

Today, on November 14 2011, it greatly pleases us to announce the birth of the Life Science Branding and Marketing Network at www.lsbmn.org!

The creation of this network has been a long time coming for our team and we are absolutely thrilled to finally be able to share the product of our efforts with you, our fellow life science branding and marketing enthusiasts, aficionados and stalwarts.

With the launch of this new group, our aim is to fill a void in the life science community.  As it stands, plenty of great resources and organizations exist out there for life science professionals, but none of them really cater to the branding and marketing side of the industry.  This is where the Life Science Branding and Marketing Network comes in.

Branding and marketing represent two organizational roles could arguably be considered some of the most important areas helping to define the ups and downs of a company’s lifespan.  Unfortunately, when it comes to marketing innovation, this industry falls way behind the curve being set by those in other areas like electronics, food and even travel. As such, one of the primary efforts of this new network will be helping fellow life science branding and marketing professionals develop new ways of approaching their jobs from a variety of vantage points, including creative, design, strategy and more.  Another key aspect of the Network will be bringing these people together in one location, whether it happens to be a local event in one’s own neighborhood, or a virtual meeting of the minds through sites like LinkedIn.  In both cases, we simply wanted to create an area where fellow branding and marketing enthusiasts like ourselves could gather, share their passion for working in this field, and comfortably, but professionally engage with their peers. This was our main goal.

As another added benefit, all Network members will receive instant access to a special section of the LSBMN website known as “LSBMN University” or LSBMN-U for short. The birth of the University actually happened quite naturally.  After several discussions with leading experts in this field, it quickly dawned on the LSBMN team that branding and marketing – while a vital piece to the overall puzzle of a company’s success – was a hugely underrepresented area of the life science market. Therefore, to help combat that nagging problem of we came up with the idea of the University. Here, members can download a collection of writings crafted to help branding and marketing professionals optimize brand performance.
