Sequenom, Inc. designs, develops, manufactures, and markets innovative technology, instrumentation and assays that target and serve discovery and clinical research and clinical molecular diagnostics markets. Target applications include translational research, oncology, agricultural genomics and in-vitro diagnostics for prenatal and retinal disorders. Sequenom’s target markets include health care providers, pharma, biotech and life science researchers.
Challenge
Sequenom’s iPLEX ADME PGx panel is a Research Use Only (RUO) technology developed to genotype polymorphisms in genes associated with drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME).
The OncoCarta Panel provides a useful tool for targeted discovery and validation of tumor samples, as well as cell line characterization for drug discovery and development. Both panels are used in conjunction with Sequenom’s MassARRAY analysis system. The challenge was to strikingly communicate the power, capabilities, and streamlining effect customers could expect to enjoy from the use of these two panels.
Solution
We developed ad concepts that would spotlight the effectiveness of Sequenom’s panel technology as well as the empowering feeling it would bring to their customers.
Result
We helped Sequenom position its panel technology in the genetic analysis space by highlighting the robustness, extensive core coverage, and cost effectiveness features that ensure faster time-to-results than substitute technologies. This positioning helped to promote their biomarker discovery and validation services. Sequenom is now able to leverage its positioning and messaging to more effectively market their respective panels to pharma, biotech and researchers.
